That's impressive, but while the company states its numbers are "independent, unbiased stats on Internet usage trends," we don't know exactly how it calculates its numbers. You see, StatCounter uses its own proprietary method for counting desktops, web browsers, and so on. However, I cannot find anything telling how to set it up or what files or needed (or even any downloads for Jump or whatever it's compatible with). Heres what was new in 8.3.8: Support iCloud keychain syncing. Xpra is 'rootless' or 'seamless': programs. This update fixes (even more) compatibility problems when connecting to Linux machines. ![]() It gives you remote access to individual applications. Still, I doubt that even over 3% of average users are running a conventional Linux desktop. Janu15:10 Hello, I purchase the Jump apps because I read in the official support area that Jump is compatible with Linux. Xpra is GNU Screen for X: it allows you to run X programs, usually on a remote host, direct their display to your local machine, and then to disconnect from these programs and reconnect from the same or another machine, without losing any state. For example, the market research company Statista has found 45% of programmers use Linux. Mind you, there are some groups, such as developers, in which Linux is widely used. Remote Desktop, Remote Support, Screen Sharing and Web Presentation. ![]() That dubious honor goes to FreeBSD, with 0.01%. In comparison, StatCounter has Windows at 68.15%, MacOS in second place with 21.38%, and Chrome OS taking third at 4.15% But, at least Linux isn't in last place. Now, that's not bad, but it's not good either. By StatCounter's reckoning, the Linux desktop has made it over 3% market share. ![]()
